The a cappella show is the main feature of the Swingle Singers' touring season. Complete with enormous sound, dazzling lights, eye-catching choreography, and the lush harmonies that made the group famous, the show has received wide acclaim as an entertainment extravaganza not to be missed!  Of course the Swingle a cappella repertoire is as diverse as their history is long, so they have the ability to tailor the show to any occasion.

MAIN TOURING PROGRAMME

2009-2010:  FERRIS WHEELS
This season, the Swingle Singers are very excited to present "Ferris Wheels", in conjunction with their brand new CD of the same name. This programme focuses on the repertoire of some of the world's greatest singer-songwriters including Joni Mitchell, Björk, Nick Drake, and the Beatles.  The show features a few Swingle classics as well, from jazz great Chick Corea to our old friends J.S. Bach and Mozart.  An introspective yet light-hearted musical journey!

2011-2012:  ORIGINALS

For the first time in nearly a decade, the Swingles present a selection of newly commissioned works by contemporary classical, choral, and jazz composers. The group has strived to expand their musical horizons through their collaborations with world-renowned artists over the years, and this programme showcases the results of that work. These world-premiere performances will be introduced throughout 2011 and 2012.

2013:  50th ANNIVERSARY TOUR

It's hard to imagine that after half a century, the Swingle Singers would still be at the top. But 50 albums, five Grammy Awards, and 4000 performances later, they're better than ever. Featuring new commissions, guest appearances by old members, and lots of surprises, the Swingle Singers invite you to celebrate this landmark year with them!

ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMES

BEAUTY AND THE BEATBOXER
As a special bonus to the Swingles' exciting a cappella show, this programme features guest appearances by some of the world's best beatboxers and vocal percussionists. The music includes selections from the last two albums, "Ferris Wheels" and the aptly named "Beauty and the Beatbox". A perfect balance of lush vocals and street beats.

CLASSIC REINVENTIONS
For the purist Swingle Singers fans, this timeless programme of classical music ranges from Baroque (J.S.Bach) to Romantic (Debussy) to contemporary (Eric Whitacre), reminding fans again why the group is still considered to be unbeaten in this style.

THE JAZZ SHOW
Featuring their now-famous vocal rhythm section, the Swingle Singers' dedicated jazz programme showcases some of the group's traditional Big Band and swung Bach favourites (for fans of the original 60s group), as well as contemporary original jazz works for fans of a younger generation.

GREATEST HITS (*JUNE-AUGUST ONLY*)
For fans of the lighter side of the Swingle Singers, this is the perfect evening's entertainment. As the name suggests, the programme is filled with some of the best-loved Swingle hits from the last four decades, including popular music from stage and screen and the pop music charts.

AN A CAPPELLA CHRISTMAS (*NOVEMBER-DECEMBER ONLY*)
This programme is a festive mix of jazzed-up holiday favourites and music from their latest album, "Ferris Wheels".
